Born in Cornwall, Trevor studied at Falmouth and then the Winchester School of Art. After leaving College, he found work in a London etching studio, learning the skills of professional printmaking as an apprentice.
Much of the inspiration for his work comes from his childhood. The abstract highly coloured textured works originated from wave patterns, reflections on the water and imagining what it might look like to be beneath the surface. His work is now much less about looking directly at water and waves, but he says that this is still a strong influence on his work.
Trevor admits that the process of printing is hugely important to him and finds that it is the opportunity of experimenting with the medium that draws him to focus his energies on printmaking.
He became an elected member of the Royal Society of Printmakers (R.E.) in 2000, his work being widely displayed throughout the UK. His work is displayed in collections at John Lewis, Bank of England and the Yale University USA among many others.
Trevor now lives and works in London having set up an etching studio called the Clink Press. However he still maintains his routes in St Ives from where he derives much of his inspiration and where he also has a small studio.
