About the artist

My inspiration comes from the natural world which I see around me: flowers in particular. I try and capture the energy and the beauty of the shapes, patterns and colours which I see. Pattern, especially, is very important to me.
Elizabeth Hellman studied art at Brighton University and regularly exhibits at the Brighton Festival. Her work is exquisitely painted so that her minute brushstrokes mirror the delicacy of the petals she depicts; and gloriously full blooms are suspended within bold, asymmetrical compositions.
